Shweta Rajpal Kohli, former Peak XV executive and public policy expert, has launched the Startup Policy Forum (SPF), a platform aimed at empowering and boosting India’s startup ecosystem.

Shweta Rajpal Kohli, a former executive at Peak XV and a renowned public policy expert, has unveiled the Startup Policy Forum (SPF), an initiative aimed at strengthening India’s startup ecosystem. The forum is set to officially launch on National Startup Day, January 16 Kohli shared.

SPF seeks to connect founders, policymakers, and regulators to align efforts in advancing government initiatives that foster startup growth. Speaking about the initiative, Kohli who serves as President and CEO of SPF, said, “India has become a global innovation hub, thanks to the government’s unwavering focus on startups and the stability provided by our world-class regulators. 

It is an honor to bring together visionary leaders to collaborate with the government and drive meaningful change.”

In its initial phase, SPF will onboard 100 carefully selected startups of which 30 have already joined. Notable members include fintech leaders like Razorpay, CRED, and Pine Labs, delivery platform Swiggy, and omnichannel retailer bluestone.  

To focus on sector-specific challenges, SPF has created four specialized councils:  


- Fintech Policy Council (FPC)  
- Consumer and Commerce Council (CACC)  
- Emerging Tech and AI Council (ETAC) 
- New-Age Public Companies Council (NPCC)

SPF has also assembled a team of experts in public policy, legal affairs, taxation, research, communications, and marketing to provide comprehensive support to its members.  

Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, expressed his support for the forum, stating Startups are driving transformative change, turning job seekers into job creators. We welcome the launch of the Startup Policy Forum, which will further solidify India’s position as a global leader in the new-age economy. 

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, SPF will play a critical role in India’s journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”  

The forum aims to foster collaboration and innovation, ensuring Indian startups continue to thrive and lead on the global stage.
