ShareChat, the Indian social media unicorn, has appointed Neha Markanda as the Chief Business Officer for its main app, ShareChat, and its short-video platform, Moj.
Markanda, who was previously Head of Industry for e-commerce at google India, will take over from Gaurav Jain, who stepped down in June.
In her new role, Markanda will lead revenue strategy, drive growth, and strengthen stakeholder relationships across India, ShareChat said in a press release. Earlier, at Google India, she led the health strategy and worked on business transformation and AI-driven solutions in retail and health tech.

With 22+ years of experience, Markanda has held senior roles at Meta, GSK Consumer Healthcare India, PepsiCo, ITC Limited, and HCL Technologies. At Google, she led the health strategy and drove AI-based solutions in retail and health tech. At Meta, she spent nearly three years as Head of Business Marketing.
Her appointment comes at a key time for ShareChat’s parent, Mohalla Tech, which has recently turned EBITDA profitable and is targeting a revenue run-rate of over ₹1,200 crore this year. Together, ShareChat and Moj have more than 325 million monthly active users, making them one of India’s largest digital networks.
