Seagate Technology names Sameer Bhatia as Senior Regional Director for IMETA region

Seagate Technology has named Sameer Bhatia as the senior regional director for India, the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (IMETA). 

His new role gives him responsibility for fast-growing markets where data use, cloud adoption, and digital infrastructure are rising quickly.

Bhatia joined Seagate in 2015 and has held key roles such as director of the Asia Pacific Consumer Business Group and country manager for India and SAARC. He brings over 20 years of experience in data storage, mobility, and telecom.

In this role, he will lead regional strategy, drive market growth, and manage relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders. He will focus on expanding Seagate’s presence, building stronger partnerships, and helping organisations adopt Seagate’s storage solutions as they grow their data across cloud and edge environments.

Sameer Bhatia said, “IMETA is rapidly emerging as a digital transformation and innovation hub. Seagate’s goal is to help organisations realise the true value of their data so they can innovate, grow and make a meaningful impact in an increasingly data-driven world."

The IMETA region is investing more in digital infrastructure, data sovereignty, and AI readiness, which is driving demand for scalable, energy-efficient storage. Seagate’s appointment of Bhatia highlights its plans to strengthen its position in these growing markets and support customers as their data needs rise.

The company continues to expand its mass-capacity storage lineup, including hard drives, SSDs, and enterprise solutions for cloud, enterprise, edge, and consumer use.
