Sajith Sivanandan to Take Over as Tata Digital CEO, 3rd Change In 2 Years

Sajith Sivanandan, a former google and JioHotstar executive, has been appointed CEO of Tata Digital, according to media reports.

He will assume charge on September 1, marking the third leadership change in two years.

Sajith Sivanandan previously worked with Jio Mobile Digital Services, a Reliance Industries subsidiary. He holds an MBA in Finance from the Asian Institute of Management and a history honours degree from Hindu College, Delhi University.

Pratik Pal, the founding CEO who launched Tata Neu, stepped down in February 2024. He was followed by Naveen Tahilyani, who resigned in May 2025 after 15 months to join Prudential Plc internationally.

Tata Digital, a Tata Group subsidiary founded in 2019, drives the conglomerate’s digital transformation and builds consumer-focused digital businesses.

Sajith Sivanandan is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in building and scaling digital businesses across India and the APAC region. He currently serves as President of Jio Mobile Digital Services at Jio Platforms Limited, focusing on AI-powered large-scale digital services.

Earlier, he was CEO of Disney+ Hotstar, India’s largest subscription video-on-demand platform, overseeing strategy, growth, product development, and P&L, and managing cross-functional teams in product, engineering, marketing, analytics, content, and operations.

Before that, Sajith spent over 15 years at Google, holding leadership roles including Managing Director of Google Pay and Next Billion Users Initiatives across India and APAC. He helped scale digital payments in India, navigate regulatory challenges and expand Google’s presence in Southeast Asia, including founding operations in Malaysia.

He began his career in consulting and media, working with Gallup, Affle UK, and Star TV, gaining expertise in business development, strategic partnerships, and market expansion.
Sajith is also a member of XA Network, a technology leaders’ investment network supporting startups in Southeast Asia. Known for his strategic vision and operational excellence, he has a strong track record of driving growth and innovation in competitive markets.
