Paytm Money Gets SEBI Approval For Research Analyst License, Enhancing Investment Offerings

Paytm Money Limited, a part of One 97 Communications Limited, has received a Research Analyst Registration from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) under the SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014.

This registration allows the Paytm Money to provide SEBI-compliant research services, including investment insights, reports and data analysis.

This move is part of Paytm Money's plan to expand its investment services, improve user experience and offer expert-backed insights to both retail and institutional investors. 

These services will be available soon on the Paytm Money app as part of a new research and advisory feature, to help investors make better financial decisions.

Paytm has been growing its presence in India’s wealth management sector, competing with platforms like Zerodha, Groww and Upstox. With the Research Analyst license Paytm Money is set to expand its range of services.

"With this registration, Paytm Money Limited can offer SEBI-compliant research services, including investment insights, research reports, and data-driven analysis. This milestone aligns with Paytm Money’s objective to expand its offerings in the investment ecosystem, enhance user experience, and provide expert-backed insights to both retail and institutional investors. These services will soon be integrated into the Paytm Money app as part of a research and advisory offering, empowering investors to make well-informed financial decisions," the company said in a statement.

In a filing with the stock exchange last month, Paytm mentioned that the integration will let users access AI-powered search features directly in the app. These features will offer real-time insights on financial decisions, market trends, and everyday questions in local languages.
