Ola Krutrim acquires BharatSah'AI'yak to expand AI-driven assistance in India

ola's AI startup, Krutrim announced on Friday that it has acquired BharatSah’AI’yak, an AI platform created by Samagra, known for working on government-related projects in education, farming and governance. 

With this acquisition, Krutrim plans to use this platform in its own AI systems, cloud services and its new AI assistant app, Kruti.

Krutrim said this move will help make AI more accessible for public services, businesses, and citizen platforms. As part of the deal, Samagra’s core AI team has joined Krutrim. 

The BharatSah’AI’yak platform will mainly be integrated into Krutrim Cloud and its AI system to support government and civic solutions.

“Integrating BharatSah’Ai’yak into the Krutrim ecosystem widens its offerings, lending cutting-edge AI-centric assistance and support to a range of government initiatives, programs and schemes—thereby spearheading and strengthening the democratisation of AI, making it beneficial and accessible to every Indian. We have onboarded the country’s brightest minds to develop a platform that reflects the diversity, depth, and richness of Indian languages and culture,” said a company spokesperson. 

BharatSah’AI’yak focuses on India-specific AI chatbots using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology, offering both text and voice support in local languages. It was used to create KumbhSah’AI’yak, an AI chatbot launched for Maha Kumbh 2025, which provided round-the-clock, multilingual help to pilgrims with rituals, directions, lodging and events. Krutrim supported this project by offering open-source LLM services.

BharatSah’AI’yak was also used to develop AMA Krushi, a voice-first AI chatbot in Odisha that helps farmers by providing advice on agriculture and government schemes in local languages. 

Recently, Krutrim launched Kruti, an AI assistant that can handle complete tasks like booking cabs, ordering food, paying bills, generating images, and doing research.
