Nazara Technologies Invests INR 4.74 Cr In Two Global Gaming VC Funds

Nazara Technologies, a leading gaming company, has invested Rs 4.74 Cr in two global gaming venture capital funds.

According to a stock exchange filing, Nazara has invested $300K (Rs 2.6 Cr) in Play Venture Fund III and $250K (Rs 2.14 Cr) in F4 Venture Fund I. Both funds focus on supporting early-stage gaming startups. Nazara made these investments as a limited partner.

This move follows the company's board approval in May 2024, which allowed investments of up to $2 million (Rs 16.6 Cr) in Play Ventures and $250K (Rs 2.1 Cr) in F4 Ventures.

"Both funds are recognised as leading global venture capital funds in the gaming sector. These investments will be allocated throughout 3 to 4 years," the company said then.  

Singapore-based Play Ventures invests in gaming startups from pre-seed to Series A stages. Its $140 million Fund III focuses on mobile games, AI-based tools, and gaming infrastructure. Some of its early-stage investments include Defi Alliance, Cypher, and M League.

Meanwhile, the US-based F4 Fund was launched in 2023 by gaming veterans David Kaye and Joakim Achrén. It supports founders from the gaming industry who are building startups in gaming, AI, SaaS, social, and consumer tech. F4 invests globally—from the US to the UAE—at seed to Series B stages. Its portfolio includes Noice, Baby.ai, and After Hours.

This update comes just a day after Nazara said its subsidiary Nodwin Gaming had extended the deadline to acquire a 92.3% stake in esports content platform AFK Gaming. The ₹7.58 Cr deal is now expected to close by July 30, 2025.
