Nazara Acquires UK’s Console Gaming Publisher Curve Games For Rs 247 Cr

Nazara Acquires UK’s Console Gaming Publisher Curve Games For Rs 247 Cr

Nazara Technologies, an online gaming company, has bought UK-based PC and console game publisher Curve Games for ₹247 crore ($28.8 million).

This is Nazara’s biggest overseas deal so far as it aims to grow in the global gaming market.

With this deal, Nazara now fully owns Curve, known for popular indie games like Human Fall Flat, For the King, and Lawn Mowing Simulator — which together have over 100 million downloads worldwide.

The acquisition helps Nazara expand beyond mobile gaming and enter the larger PC and console gaming market, which is worth over $100 billion globally.

This move supports Nazara’s goal to grow its global game publishing business. The acquisition will also give Nazara access to new platforms, game types, and markets in the global PC and console gaming space.

"Curve’s proven expertise in PC and Console publishing makes them an ideal partner as we expand our focus beyond mobile into high-quality, cross-platform gaming. This acquisition deepens our capabilities, brings exceptional IP into our fold, and strengthens our mission in building Nazara as a global gaming powerhouse from India. Curve will also serve as a gateway to the world for Indian game developers,” said Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara Technologies.

Curve Games has a strong lineup of popular games, with over 100 million downloads worldwide. It operates in major gaming markets like North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe.

Nazara has been actively buying and investing in gaming and media startups to expand its offerings. According to tracxn, it has acquired about 16 companies and invested in 23 others. In December 2024 alone, Nazara invested ₹196 crore in five companies—both new and existing—to support its growth in the gaming and entertainment space.
