Nazara Acquires Majority Stake In Kids-Play Centre Funky Monkeys

Listed gaming company Nazara has acquired a majority stake in Mumbai-based Funky Monkeys Play Centers Private Limited for Rs 43.7 crore (around $5.01 million).

The deal included both primary and secondary capital. Nazara purchased 3.61 lakh shares of Funky Monkeys at a face value of Rs 10 each, taking a 21.43% stake, for Rs 15 crore, as per exchange filings.

Nazara also acquired an additional 6.51 lakh equity shares, with a face value of Rs 10 each, representing 38.57% of Funky Monkeys' equity. This was done for Rs 28.7 crore in cash.

After the acquisition, Funky Monkeys became a subsidiary of Nazara, with Nazara now holding a 60% stake in the kids' play center.

However, net profits dropped by 54% year-on-year, from Rs 30 crore to Rs 14 crore, and saw a 13% quarter-on-quarter decline from Rs 16 crore in Q2 FY25.
