Mental health startup LISSUN acquires US-based Being Cares to expand into children-centric mental health offerings

As part of the deal, LISSUN has taken over Being Care’s technology IP and entire team. Additionally, Being Care’s founders, Varun Gandhi and Abhishek Sharma, have joined LISSUN as Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer, respectively.

Mental health startup LISSUN acquires US-based Being Cares to expand into children-centric mental health offerings

AI-driven mental health startup LISSUN has acquired US-based digital mental health company Being Cares Inc to strengthen its presence in child-focused psychological care. 

While the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, LISSUN said the acquisition will allow it to expand services in areas such as autism, ADHD, speech delays and learning challenges. 

As part of the deal, LISSUN has taken over Being Care’s technology IP and entire team. Additionally, Being Care’s founders, Varun Gandhi and Abhishek Sharma, have joined LISSUN as Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer, respectively.

Notably, LISSUN operates a dedicated division called Sunshine that focuses on mental health support for children. The company plans to scale this initiative by expanding the number of Sunshine centres from the current 20 to 200 over the next 2 to 4 years.

“With Being’s AI and our clinical expertise, we are building a system that addresses families’ concerns from the very first signs, offers digital guidance, and seamlessly transitions into in-person care when needed,” said LISSUN’s founder Tarun Gupta.

Founded in 2021 by Gupta and Krishna Veer Singh, LISSUN aims to tackle modern mental health challenges by providing expert-led therapies and holistic emotional wellness solutions.

The company has built a strong in-house clinical team by onboarding therapists as full-time employees. So far, it claims to have supported over 75,000 clients and collaborated with more than 350 B2B partners, including notable names like Uber, zerodha and unacademy to improve workplace mental health.

Meanwhile, Being Cares is a US-based mental health mapping startup that helps users understand their psychological concerns. It offers solutions such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), AI-powered journaling, and quick mental health assessments.
