KRAFTON Invests Rs 118 Cr To Increase Stake In Nautilus Mobile To 75%

South Korean gaming giant KRAFTON’s India has bought a majority stake in Pune-based game studio Nautilus Mobile with an additional investment of INR 118 Cr (around $13.7 million).

This move increases KRAFTON India's ownership in the creators of "Real Cricket" to 75%.

This is KRAFTON's first deal in India where it gains control, highlighting its focus on local game development.

“Nautilus, with its strong IP, established Indian user base, and proven development track record, offers a unique opportunity to deepen KRAFTON’s esports and publishing efforts in the country,” the BGMI creator said in a statement.

In 2020, JetSynthesys acquired Nautilus Mobile. Then, in 2022, Krafton invested Rs 40.5 crore in the company. 

With this latest acquisition, Krafton now holds a larger stake in India's gaming sector, combining Nautilus Mobile’s expertise with its global resources and technology.

After the acquisition, JetSynthesys will stay as a key minority investor and continue collaborating with Nautilus Mobile, especially in Esports. This move is part of Krafton’s plan to make india a major hub for game development and focusing on cricket and the growing digital gaming market.

With Krafton's support, Nautilus Mobile plans to expand its Real Cricket franchise to a global audience.

KRAFTON, which has already invested around $200 million in India to capture a major part of the local gaming market, plans to invest another $150 million to $200 million to speed up its growth in the country.

The BGMI developer mentioned that it will keep making such acquisitions as part of its expansion plans in India.

Founded in 2013 by Anuj Mankar, Nautilus Mobile is known for games like Real Cricket 22 and Real Cricket 24. It also released Real Cricket GO, a lighter version of the game for lower-end devices.

According to the Google Store, each of these games has over 100 million downloads so far.
