Bengaluru-based Covrzy, an insurance-tech startup has joined hands with India’s leading open-mobility platform and the country’s fastest-growing driver-first transportation network Namma Yatri.
With this partnership, Covrzy aims to make health insurance affordable and accessible to Namma Yatri drivers and their family members across India.
As part of this newly formalized long-term partnership, Covrzy will integrate its embedded health insurance offerings into Namma Yatri’s driver app, ensuring direct access to top-tier insurance products from leading Indian insurers for driver captains.
starting in Bengaluru in next few months, the partnership reflects Covrzy and Namma Yatri’s shared commitment to strengthening the safety net for India’s gig economy workers. Through this integration, auto and cab drivers can easily discover, compare, and purchase health insurance plans tailored to their needs—right from the Namma Yatri app.

The fully digital process ensures minimal paperwork and instant policy issuance, while also allowing drivers to view network hospitals, download policies, track renewals, and raise claims seamlessly.
Covrzy and Namma Yatri plan to launch this insurance program for over 3,000 drivers in Bengaluru over the next few months. In the next 12–18 months, they aim to reach more than 50,000 drivers across other cities where Namma Yatri is active. Currently, the platform operates in cities like Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, and Kochi, with plans to expand to 10+ more tier 1 and tier 2 cities soon.
Ankit Kamra, Founder of Covrzy, said, “Millions of drivers form the backbone of India’s mobility ecosystem, yet it is unfortunate to note that most of them remain uninsured or underinsured as of today. Through our partnership with Namma Yatri, we aim to change this scenario for the better, and bring affordable, quality health cover to an integral part of the country’s gig workforce – the driver-captains. This partnership stands as a testament to our commitment to foster a hassle-free, frictionless, digital insurance journey for every Indian – including those who’re at the heart of the nation’s gig economy”.
Shan M S, Co-founder of Namma Yatri added, “At Namma Yatri, we believe that building truly people-first mobility starts with empowering our driver-captains. This partnership with Covrzy reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting their well-being- by making health insurance simple, accessible, and built around their real needs. With Covrzy’s embedded solutions, we’re able to offer drivers and their families meaningful financial protection, in a way that’s seamless and easy to access. It’s another step forward in creating an ecosystem that is fair, transparent, and truly driver-first.”
Under this initiative, driver-captains will have access to health plans that offer benefits like hospitalization coverage of up to ₹3 lakhs, cashless treatment at over 10,000 hospitals, OPD wellness support, and more. Covrzy and Namma Yatri are also working to include spouses and children under family floater plans.
To boost awareness and adoption, physical drives will be held at auto stands, on-ground helpdesks will be set up with support from Namma Yatri community volunteers, and the app will feature guides, FAQs, and video explainers in regional languages.
Namma Yatri, developed by SoftBank-backed fintech company Juspay, is India’s first ride-hailing platform to join the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). They have changed the ride-booking market with their zero-commission, subscription-based business model.
