Infosys, a major IT company, has announced that it will invest Rs 8.3 Crores (around US$ 1.0 million) in the healthcare and life sciences startup, 4baseCare. This investment is part of the Infosys Innovation Fund.
Infosys plans to use 4baseCare's expertise to help its clients with their business changes.
This investment comes just four months after 4baseCare raised $6 million in its Series A funding round, led by Yali Capital.
Infosys said in a filing that the investment will be made through its venture capital arm, Infosys Innovation Fund. In return, the Fund will buy an undisclosed number of Series A compulsory convertible preference shares (CCPS) of the startup.

“Infosys Innovation Fund seeks to partner with AI and deep-tech startups such as 4baseCare to complement its capabilities and jointly co-create next-generation solutions bringing the power of innovation to help Infosys’ clients navigate their business transformation,” Infosys said in the filing.
The fundraising comes as the Indian healthtech startup scene keeps growing, with investors supporting new innovations to tackle healthcare problems.

The Bengaluru based 4baseCare, founded in 2018 by Hitesh Goswami and Kshitij Rishi, uses advanced genomics and digital health technologies to create personalized cancer care for patients.The startup says it has created special genomic panels that help oncologists choose the best targeted therapy for their patients.
