Job portal Naukri.com parent company Info Edge (India) Ltd, have approved an investment of up to Rs 1,000 crore in its third venture fund. 

This move will help the Noida-based company support more early-stage startups and strengthen its role in India’s growing venture capital space.

“In connection with the above, we hereby inform that the members of the company have approved the aforesaid resolution with requisite majority through remote e-voting postal ballot process as set out in the Postal Ballot Notice, and the approval is deemed to have been received on the last date specified by the company for remote e-voting, i.e. Saturday, 24 May 2025,” Info Edge said.

Smartweb Internet Services Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Info Edge, will manage and sponsor the new fund.

Out of 1,274 people who voted, 1,271 valid votes were counted.

Co-founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the proposal was approved with 99.9995% voting in favor.

Info Edge runs its venture funds in partnership with Temasek, Singapore’s government-owned investment firm. The latest fund is expected to cross ₹2,000 crore ($230 million).

One of Info Edge’s most successful bets was on Zomato. It first invested around ₹4.7 crore and kept backing the company in later rounds. By the time Zomato went public in 2021, Info Edge owned about 18.6%. The company made over Rs 3,000 crore from selling shares during the IPO—one of the biggest returns in Indian startup history.

Apart from Zomato, Info Edge has invested in many fast-growing startups like Policybazaar, ShopKirana, Gramophone, DotPe, adda247, NoBroker, and Univariety. 

So far, it has invested more than Rs 2,000 crore ($250 million), usually taking small stakes and helping startups with its business experience.
