Info Edge Director and CFO Chintan Thakkar Resigns

After over 12 years at Info Edge, CFO Chintan Thakkar has resigned to become the group CEO of IAN Group (formerly India Angel Network). He will stay on for three months to serve his notice period.

At Info Edge, Thakkar was instrumental in setting up AIFs and investment vehicles that helped the company become a leading startup investor in India. He also led its startup investment arm, Startup Investment (Holding) Limited, as CEO.

With over 10 years of experience in growing Info Edge’s startup investment arm, Thakkar is now shifting fully to investments by joining seed and early-stage platform IAN Group. He will also guide the newly launched IAN Alpha Fund as its senior managing partner.

Info Edge announced that former CFO Ambarish Raghuvanshi will step in as interim CFO from November 20, until a new CFO is appointed.

“In my pursuit of empowering experiences and enriching growth, I will transition into a career in investments as Group CEO of IAN Group and senior managing partner at IAN Alpha Fund,” Thakkar’s resignation letter read.

IAN Group said the appointment is part of its plan to strengthen the organization. Led by Saurabh Srivastava, Raman Roy, Mohit Goyal, Padmaja Ruparel, and others, the group has been investing in Indian startups since 2006, backing over 225 startups with nearly ₹900 Cr.

Ruparel said Thakkar’s addition strengthens the management team of Rajnish Kapur, Madhav Sikka, and Sarika Saxena, giving IAN the capacity to pursue its goal of investing ₹5,000 Cr, supporting 500 startups, and creating 5 lakh jobs.
