Kochi-based marine robotics startup EyeROV announced on Tuesday that it has secured a ₹47 crore contract from the Indian Navy to supply advanced underwater drones (UWROVs).
The company said the deal will boost the Navy’s capabilities with its homegrown technology. EyeROV’s UWROVs have been tested in extreme conditions, including rough deep seas and the Antarctic.
The EyeROV TROUT, rated for depths up to 300 metres, is built for both defence and commercial use. It can carry advanced payloads for tasks like underwater surveillance and reconnaissance.

In 2024, EyeROV raised $1.2 million in a Pre-Series A round from Unicorn India Ventures. The startup was named one of India’s top five defence-tech companies and won the National Startup Award in 2022.

Founded in 2017, EyeROV has completed over 100 deployments across India, West Asia, APAC, and Europe. Its clients include the Defence Research and Development Organisation, Indian Coast Guard, CSIR, and the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research.
