In a strategic push to foster innovation and strengthen the startup ecosystemGoa’s Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Minister Rohan A. Khaunte has announced the launch of the Goa Startup Accelerator Program — a mentor-led initiative designed to support the growth and scale of high-potential startups across the state.
The program will be spearheaded by the Startup and IT Promotion Cell under the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa. It aims to support a cohort of 30 startups, comprising 25 Goa-registered ventures and 5 operational startups not yet formally registered in the state.
Structured as a five-month accelerator, the program will focus on critical areas such as product development, technology, business growth, market access, and fundraising. Participating startups will benefit from domain-specific masterclasses, one-on-one mentorship clinics, and the opportunity to pitch to investors and corporate partners during a Demo Day.
“Goa’s long-term vision is to build a connected, visible, and outcome-driven startup ecosystem,” said Minister Rohan A. Khaunte.
“This accelerator will serve as a unifying platform to track performance, engage mentors, and amplify the visibility of local innovation. Through the Goa Startup and IT Policy, we are committed to positioning Goa as a vibrant hub for scalable business growth.”
Startups will be selected via open applications and nominations from industry incubators and partners. Once onboarded, the cohort will gain access to a real-time progress tracking dashboard, structured mentor interactions, and measurable outcome tracking.
“By going beyond one-time incentives, we’re filling a crucial gap in the startup journey,” said Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, DITE&C.
“This program offers continuous, hands-on support that will shape Goa’s future as a powerhouse of homegrown entrepreneurship.”
The initiative is part of Goa’s broader mission to drive innovation-led job creation, strengthen local industry participation, and empower entrepreneurs to scale impactful solutions — both within and beyond the state.
