Fintech Unicorn Moneyview Files DRHP For Over ₹1,500 Cr IPO

Fintech unicorn Moneyview has submitted its DRHP to the SEBI for an IPO.

The IPO will include a fresh issue of shares worth ₹1,500 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 13.61 crore shares by existing shareholders.

The funds raised from the fresh issue will be used to grow Moneyview’s lending business.

Out of the ₹1,500 crore, ₹650 crore will be used to increase loan disbursals under default loss guarantee (DLG) arrangements, and ₹450 crore will be invested in its NBFC subsidiary Whizdm Finance Pvt Ltd to strengthen its capital base.

In the OFS, co-founders and promoters Puneet Agarwal and Sanjay Aggarwal, along with investors such as Accel, Ribbit Capital, and Tiger Global, will sell their shares.

Founded in 2014, Moneyview offers a digital-first lending model that provides unsecured personal loans to underserved and new-to-credit customers. It works with banks and NBFCs to originate loans through its app and website, and also lends directly through its own NBFC, Whizdm Finance Pvt Ltd.

The startup uses its own credit scoring models and alternative data to evaluate borrowers. It earns revenue from interest on loans from its own book and from fees and commissions on partner-led loans.

Over time, Moneyview has expanded into related financial products like credit cards, BNPL, and personal finance management tools to increase user engagement and enable cross-selling.

The company has raised over $250 million from investors including Accel, Ribbit Capital, and Tiger Global. It became a unicorn in 2022, reaching a valuation of over $1 billion, amid growing investor interest in India’s digital lending and fintech sector.
