Exotel Cofounder and COO Ishwar Sridharan Steps Down

Ishwar Sridharan, cofounder and COO of AI-powered customer engagement platform Exotel, has left the company.

“Today marks my last official working day at ExotelExotel Datalabs_in-article-icon. It’s been a little over 14 years, and it’s been the most remarkable and productive professional days of my life. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together-not just a company, but an institution built to last,” Sridharan said in an internal mail to employees.

Sridharan cofounded Exotel in 2011 with Shivakumar Ganesan, Siddharth Ramesh, and Vijay Sharma. Before that, he worked at Position2, Yahoo, and SAP Labs, building 23 years of experience across different roles.

His exit comes as Exotel faces several senior-level departures. Senior director for BFSI, Lalit Khosa, left in December, India business head Angira Agrawal quit in April, and HR vice president Sumanpreet Bhatia moved on in June.

Exotel offers AI-powered voice and chat agents to help enterprises manage customer interactions. It also provides tools to track call volume, duration, and other metrics for better call centre insights.

The company has raised over $87 Mn so far, backed by investors like Blume Ventures, A91 Partners, and 360 One.

Financially, Exotel reduced its net loss by over 60%, to INR 43.3 Cr in FY24 from INR 109.4 Cr in FY23. Its operating revenue grew 6%, reaching INR 444.5 Cr from INR 419.6 Cr the previous year.
