Tech Mahindra has Signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement With AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Tech Mahindra is a top global supplier of digital solutions and technology consulting to businesses across industries, have inked a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) to create an Autonomous Networks Operations Platform (ANOP) for enterprise clients and Communication Service Providers (CSPs).

With the help of AWS's generative AI (GenAI), machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) services, this Tech Mahindra platform allows users to move their network operations from an on-premises infrastructure to a real-time proactive and preventive model running on a hybrid cloud.

Tech Mahindra's GenAI skills and knowledge of telecom networks are combined with Amazon SageMaker, a service that offers fully managed infrastructure, tools, and processes for creating, honing, and implementing machine learning models for any industrial use case. With the help of the ANOP platform, CSPs may increase the productivity of teams in charge of physical and cloud infrastructure's Network Operations Center (NOC) by over 50%. It decreases Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) for network and service problems by more than 30% and cuts field trips by more than 15%.

The platform achieves speed and efficiency gains of more than 30% by expediting the deployment of network and service configurations. The partnership also includes Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed solution that offers top-performing foundation models (FMs) from top AI companies through a single API.

Manish Mangal, Chief Technology Officer, Telecom & Global Business Head, Network Services at Tech Mahindra, said, “The communications industry is at a pivotal junction of deploying disaggregated, virtualized and cloud-native RAN networks. Our collaboration with AWS empowers telcos to simplify operations, modernize networks, and unlock revenue through advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning. By integrating AWS’s GenAI, our Autonomous Networks Operations Platform delivers real-time insights, intelligent workflows, and supports O-RAN adoption for efficient, proactive network management.”

Tech Mahindra is evaluating and verifying O-RAN features on Amazon's EKS Anywhere (EKS-A) platform. The platform for Distributed Unit and Central Unit network functions will be jointly tested and validated, which will speed up the cloudification of RAN at the edge and allow both firms to use their strengths for broader industry benefits.

Robin Harwani, Head of Telco Industry Solutions at AWS, said, “The collaboration to integrate AWS’s AI/ML, including generative AI offerings to build Tech Mahindra’s Autonomous Networks Operations Platform, is an important step to help telco operators bring acceleration in their network operations transformation. Through this effort, network operators can get generative AI-enabled actionable and just-in-time recommendations such as for NOC operations, field dispatch optimization, as well as automated self-healing for preventive actions. This will make it easier for operators to more proactively manage and optimize network performance and reduce their operational expenditure.”

Offering industry-leading networks, engineering, and expertise skills to streamline company complexity, promote change, and quicken monetization, Tech Mahindra is a reliable transformation partner. A major European communications provider is now using ANOP to improve network operations through process optimization and automation.
