DPIIT has teamed up with WinZO to boost India’s interactive entertainment industry.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has teamed up with WinZO, a social gaming platform, in a two-year partnership.

Collabration of Goal

The goal of this collaboration is to boost India’s interactive entertainment industry by encouraging innovation, creating skilled talent, and helping startups grow internationally.

The partnership will focus on building an ecosystem of over 2,000 startups, innovators, and students, offering them mentorship, industry insights, and global opportunities.

This initiative supports Prime Minister Modi’s vision of making India self-reliant in gaming and technology, with the aim of making India a global leader in interactive entertainment and capturing a share of the $300 billion global gaming market.

Saumya Singh Rathore, Co-Founder of WinZO said, "We are honoured to partner with DPIIT, which has been a cornerstone in empowering entrepreneurs like us to dream, build, and scale from India to the world. This MoU is a transformative step toward creating an ecosystem that not only fosters innovation for India but also positions Indian products and intellectual property on the global stage,".

WinZO will set up a Center of Excellence (CoE) with DPIIT as part of their partnership.

The CoE will help startups and entrepreneurs by focusing on building a skilled workforce, creating new ways to earn money from Indian gaming products, developing high-qualityMade in Indiaintellectual property for global markets, attracting foreign investment, and promoting the production of interactive tech in India.

The CoE aims to solve challenges like monetization and the shortage of skilled talent, playing a key role in shaping India’s future in gaming and interactive entertainment.

Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, DPIIT said, "Through our collaboration with WinZO, we aim to foster innovation, promote entrepreneurship, and empower startups to manufacture products of global standards. This initiative aligns with our vision of making India a leader in interactive technology, contributing meaningfully to PM Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India,".

The MoU will help grow WinZO’s Tech Triumph Program, which supports India’s top game developers.

India’s interactive entertainment industry is expected to reach $60 billion by 2034, creating over 2 million jobs. To tap into this potential, the partnership will support startups through hackathons, workshops, accelerator programs, and pitch events. The MoU will also expand the Tech Triumph Program to identify and mentor the best game developers in India.

The MoU also aims to close the talent gap in the industry by helping professionals develop skills in coding, animation, game design, and development.

The Center of Excellence (CoE) will offer startups the chance to access WinZO’s $50 million fund for interactive entertainment projects, receive mentorship from industry experts, and connect with investors.

Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director (Startup India), DPIIT said, "By providing resources, mentorship, and global exposure, we are not just creating startups but building a pipeline of talent and innovation that will place India at the forefront of the global gaming industry,". "
