Delhi Metro Partners with Blue Dart To Provide Urban Logistics Service

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Blue Dart signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer urban logistics services.

According to DMRC, this initiative which wasthe first of its kind in the South Asia Pacific region, highlights both DMRC and Blue Dart’s commitment to environmental sustainability and promoting greener logistics solutions.

Under this partnership, Blue Dart will use metro trains to transport cargo during non-peak hours, taking advantage of available capacity for faster and more reliable delivery of time-sensitive shipments.

This move will reduce reliance on road transport which helping to ease traffic congestion and lower vehicle emissions.

At the same time, DMRC will optimize its resources, further strengthening its focus on eco-friendly transport solutions.

"Under this initiative, DMRC is leveraging its stations and tracks to establish a sustainable urban freight network across Delhi-NCR," DMRC stated in the statement.

The initiative also aims to improve operational efficiency, reduce delivery times and support urban freight systems with lower carbon emissions by transforming metro stations into logistics hubs.

With this innovative approach, DMRC and Blue Dart will reshape urban logistics by combining sustainability and innovation, ensuring a greener and more efficient future for cargo transport in cities.
