As tensions between India and Pakistan rose over the weekend, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) reported a sharp rise in cyber attacks on businesses and government systems.
The cybersecurity agency under the IT Ministry has released new security guidelines, especially for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

“CERT-In has detected a surge in cyber threats encompass ransomware attacks, DDoS incidents, website defacements, data breaches, and malware infections. These attack vectors, whether executed individually or in combination, pose a significant risk to the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of systems and services,” it said in a public advisory.
CERT-In, understanding that smaller businesses have limited resources and are more at risk online, has urged MSMEs to adopt strong yet affordable cybersecurity measures.
CERT-In has warned that organizations should stay alert and take steps to reduce possible risks.
It stressed that businesses—especially small ones without dedicated cybersecurity teams—should focus on basic safety practices like keeping software updated, monitoring networks, using endpoint protection, and training employees on cyber threats.
