Cloud Kitchen Startup Curefoods Acquires Pan-India Rights For Krispy Kreme

Cloud kitchen startup Curefoods announced on Tuesday that it has acquired the pan-India rights for the doughnut and coffee brand Krispy Kreme.

This deal also marks Curefoods’ entry into North India, as it has taken over seven retail stores and four cloud kitchens in Delhi NCR. The deal amount was not shared.

With this move, Curefoods now runs over 100 Krispy Kreme outlets across India. It had earlier taken over Krispy Kreme’s South and West India operations in December.

US-based Krispy Kreme Inc operates in 40 countries through its doughnut shops, retail partners, and online platform.

“With full national rights now under our umbrella, we are excited to build a unified strategy for brand growth, customer experience, and innovation across the country. Delhi NCR is the beginning, and we are committed to scaling Krispy Kreme in a way that’s sustainable, accessible, and exciting for our consumers,” said, Curefoods founder Ankit Nagori.

Curefoods also plans to expand to more parts of India, especially in western areas like Mumbai.

Founded in 2020 by Ankit Nagori, Curefoods owns brands like EatFit, Cakezone, Nomad Pizza, Sharief Bhai Biryani and Frozen Bottle. Based in Bengaluru, the company runs over 500 cloud kitchens and offline stores across 40 cities.

Curefoods acquired foodtech startup Yumlane in October 2023. Earlier, in 2022, it bought a majority stake in milkshake brand Frozen Bottle. 

It also merged with Mumbai-based Maverix and took over the south India franchise rights for US pizza chain Sbarro.
