Change Engine, a leading startup accelerator based in Gurugram, announced plans to invest over $5 million in early-stage AI startups from India over the next five years.
The initiative will support six high-potential AI startups each year, focusing on innovations in machine learning and business applications for global markets.
Change Engine aims to help create second-generation AI products from India—solutions that are more than just basic implementations, offering robust and scalable innovations. Their six-month program provides startups with a top-tier environment for product development and access to a global network of mentors.
Each year, six startups will receive $50K in seed funding, with the potential for up to $150K through additional investments, totaling over $5M in the next three years.

“At the heart of the accelerator is our commitment to building second-generation AI products from India—solutions that go beyond superficial implementations to deliver robust, scalable, and tailor-made innovations. Our 6-month program provides startups with a state-of-the-art sandbox environment, comprehensive support in product development, and a global mentor network," said Varun Aggarwal, Founder of Change Engine.
"Each year, we will seed 6 startups with $50,000 each, followed by up to $150,000 through syndication, paving the way for over $5 million in total investment over the next three years,” Aggarwal said.
"Change Engine isn’t just an accelerator; it’s a launchpad for breakthrough AI innovations. We are here to empower the next generation of AI entrepreneurs with the funding, mentorship, and industry connections they need to transform their ideas into impactful products,” added Aggarwal.
Change Engine has helped build the AI ecosystem in Delhi NCR, hosting events like the AI Product Bootcamp at IIT Delhi, where over 40 AI enthusiasts were trained by industry experts from companies like Google, Meta, and Amazon. It has also worked on comparing India’s AI research with global developments.
Previous Change Engine cohorts have reached significant milestones, such as Sonic Lambs, which appeared on Shark Tank Season 4 and secured Rs 50L in funding, and CallPrep, which was featured on Nikhil Kamath’s WTFund list.
Change Engine said its Customer Advisory Board includes leaders from top US companies like Amazon, Google, McKinsey and Adobe. They provide valuable insights, help validate ideas and improve go-to-market strategies.
