Astrotalk appoints Deepak Khetan as new chief financial officer

Astrotalk, an astrology consulting services provider has appointed Deepak Khetan as its chief financial officer as it prepares to go public within the next two years. 

Khetan joins Astrotalk after serving as CFO at GLS Group India, GlobalBees, and Edelweiss Financial Services.

In his new role, he will handle financial planning, risk management, compliance, and investor relations. He will also prepare Astrotalk for its IPO while leading strategic investments, global expansion, and long-term growth.

“Preparing for an IPO is like preparing for a marathon, it requires precision, strategy, and the right team. I look forward to building the financial discipline and systems that will support the company’s ambitions for years to come,” said Khetan on his appointment.

“As we are scaling and launching in new geographies, our finances have also started becoming more complex. We wanted a strong leader with good pedigree and experience who could handle our finances with airtight compliance,” said founder and chief executive Puneet Gupta.

Astrotalk follows a revenue-sharing model with 20,000+ astrologers and has around 700,000 daily active users. Its services cost between ₹10 and ₹200 per minute, and the company claims an annual revenue run-rate of ₹1,600 crore.

AstroTalk raised $14 million in June last year, taking its total funding to $34 million from Left Lane and Elev8 Capital. The company is now aiming for a unicorn valuation in its next funding round.
