AICTE Partners With IG Drones To Set Up Drone Centres Of Excellence In 50 Engineering Colleges

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has signed an agreement with IG Drones, a leading company in drone manufacturing, services, and training. 

Together, they will set up 50 Centres of Excellence in drone technology at AICTE-approved colleges across India. 

These centers will get modern drone equipment, tailored training programs, and ongoing technical help from IG Drones.

The goal is to train over 25,000 students every year, giving them practical skills and real-world experience in drone technology. This will help students become job-ready and stay ahead in a fast-changing, tech-driven world.

AICTE Chairman, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, said, “The establishment of these Centres of Excellence is a transformative step toward equipping our youth with cutting-edge skills in drone technology. We believe this collaboration will empower students to develop innovative, real-world solutions in areas such as agriculture, healthcare, disaster management, infrastructure, and more, thereby contributing to national development and improving quality of life.”

The Drone Centres of Excellence will act as hands-on learning and innovation hubs, bringing advanced drone technology into technical education. Students will learn practical skills and earn certifications in drone flying, building, and usage. Each university will train 200 students, reaching over 10,000 learners with specialized drone knowledge.

These centres also aim to boost entrepreneurship and local innovation, helping build a skilled workforce for key areas like farming, defence, disaster response, delivery services, and city planning. The initiative supports economic growth and prepares young people for future-ready careers in a self-reliant, tech-driven India.
