Agritech startup DeHaat has bought the farm advisory platform AgriCentral from Olam Agri in an all-cash deal through a business transfer agreement (BTA).
The financial details of the deal were not shared.
AgriCentral, which helps over 10 million small farmers, will help DeHaat improve its digital services for farmers and grow its reach.
Founded in 2018, AgriCentral helps farmers with services like real-time crop price information, personalized crop planning, crop health checks, and community interaction. It uses technologies like GPS, satellite images, big data, machine learning and image analysis to support digital farming.

Shashank Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of DeHaat, said, “AgriCentral’s cost-efficient digital capabilities will complement our efforts in reaching millions of underserved farmers with our full-stack agri value chain offerings. It will also enable us to introduce multiple value-added services such as precision advisory, mechanisation, insurance, and cattle advisory to enhance the livelihoods of our farmers. With this integration, we reinforce our commitment to bringing transparent and direct access to farmers in the $500 billion Indian agriculture sector."
Ramanarayanan Mahadevan, CEO of Olam’s farmer services platform Jiva, said, “At AgriCentral, our mission has always been to leverage technology to enhance the lives of Indian farmers. I am confident that DeHaat will further scale the impact, providing farmers on the AgriCentral platform with better access to a comprehensive range of agricultural value chain services.”

Gurugram- based DeHaat was founded in 2012 by Kumar, Amrendra Singh, Adarsh Srivastav, Shyam Sundar Singh and Abhishek Dokania, It offers farmers various services, such as direct access to markets, quality supplies, expert farming advice and export opportunities.
DeHaat works in more than 12 states and helps over 2.8 million farmers through a network of over 15,000 micro-entrepreneurs. The platform covers 120,000 villages and partners with more than 1,000 agribusinesses, including suppliers, buyers, warehouse operators and financial institutions.
