Aakash Strengthens Leadership with Alka Garg as CFO and Kanika Kumar Nijhawan as SVP – Marketing

Aakash Educational Services, which provides coaching for engineering and medical entrance exams in India, has appointed Alka Garg as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Kanika Kumar Nijhawan as Senior Vice President – Marketing.

These new appointments are part of the company’s plan to strengthen its leadership team and support faster growth and better performance.

Alka Garg has more than 22 years of experience working with listed companies and fast-growing startups. She has worked closely with founders and CEOs to help businesses grow profitably and create long-term value.

In her new role, she will lead AESL’s finance team, manage financial strategy, improve efficiency, strengthen governance, and support the company’s future growth plans.

Commenting on the new appointments of Garg and Nijhawan, Chandra Sekhar Garisa Reddy, Managing Director & CEO, Aakash Educational Services Limited stated, "We are thrilled to have both Alka and Kanika join the Aakash team. Kanika Kumar Nijhawan has more than 17 years of experience in media, retail, and sports. She is skilled in brand building, marketing strategy, digital marketing, and managing campaigns across different channels. Before joining AESL, she worked for 10 years at Adidas India as Director – Brand Marketing. She has also worked with HT Media and Sony Entertainment.

Earlier, Deepak Mehrotra, the Managing Director and CEO of Aakash, resigned in August last year. He stepped down about 16 months after joining the company in April 2024.
