Saving money in the right places is not only good for your wallet - it's also good for the environment. And you don't even have to be short of cash to do it. So you have more to invest in online litecoin casino.

Our consumer society has made it so that we spend money on things that we could either have for free or at least cheaper - or don't actually need at all. If we are aware of this, we can not only save money, but also protect our environment.

OUR TIPS FOR YOU

Tip 1: Give yourself a gift

Furniture, clothing, electrical appliances or food - you can get it all for free. On websites like ebay classifieds, for example, in the category "to give away and swap" or in Facebook groups like "Free your stuff" for individual cities. Here, people give away things they no longer need themselves so that others can continue to use them - from washing machines to desk chairs.

You can also get clothes for free at clothing swap parties, for example. At these events, everyone brings their old clothes and trades them for others'. Just Google for swap parties in your area (best via Ecosia). If you don't find one, you can organise one yourself with your friends.

This will help you save not only money, but also valuable resources that are needed to make new things.

Tip 2: Eat less meat and animal products

Meat and dairy products are expensive, especially if they are produced sustainably. Therefore, reach for (organic) vegetables more often, which is not only cheaper, but also better for the environment: the production of animal foods accounts for more than half (60 percent) of greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture.

Vegans in particular therefore save a lot of CO2 by not eating meat (as well as other animal products). In addition, a meat-free diet has (positive) effects on your health.

Tip 3: Save food

There are people who rescue food directly from supermarket garbage cans. But if so-called containerizing isn't for you, there are easier ways: On websites like Foodsharing.de you can pick up rescued food for free. This way you save money and do something against food waste.

Some retailers or supermarkets are also taking action against food waste: Many bakeries, for example, offer their goods cheaper shortly before closing time. Some stores even sell only baked goods from the previous day at a lower price. You can find a list here. Use the app "Too Good Too Go" to get leftover food from restaurants, cafés or snack bars for less - and save it from going to waste.

Tip 4: Save on laundry

Did you know that you can wash most of your clothes at 30 degrees? Unlike washing at 40 degrees, the energy savings is a full 40 percent. And your laundry usually gets just as clean.

You'll also save money and energy by using your washing machine's Eco program (if there is one). You'll also save money if you fill the washing machine sufficiently - and only wash your clothes when they're really dirty. In this way, you also protect your clothes. Because they wear out with every wash cycle. Here you can find more tips for washing clothes.

If you want to buy a new washing machine, you should choose an efficient one. It may be more expensive to buy, but it uses less energy, water and detergent.

Tip 6: Buy used

You don't get everything for free - but a lot of things are cheaper. And you can do this by buying second-hand. Offline and online, there are portals and stores for second-hand items: furniture, books, tableware, smartphones or clothing. Often these things are as good as new, and many dealers even offer a warranty, for example on electrical appliances.
