Royal Brothers, a Bengaluru-based business that rents out two-wheelers, has received a strategic investment from Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha Motors.

Yamaha Motor Co. has also signed an agreement with Royal Brothers through its Indian subsidiary, Moto Business Service India (MBSI), to support its commercial expansion efforts throughout the nation, as reported by ET.

The goal of Royal Brothers, according to CEO Abhishek Chandrashekar, is to make motorcycling accessible to 500 million Indians without requiring them to acquire a car. With this relationship, Chandrashekhar now plans to collaborate with businesses that require last-mile delivery, breaking into the business-to-business market.

Yamaha Motor’s medium-term management plan for 2022–2024 includes mobility. Under the plan, it is growing its mobility solutions business with local businesses worldwide and investing in shared mobility.

“Royal Brothers has been one of our primary strategic partners, and Yamaha Motor’s investment will support Royal Brothers in their business expansion of vehicles and services across India. We plan to transform the overall shared mobility space in India by bringing in the financial and strategic experience of our stakeholders,” said Nakao Hiroshi, Managing Director of MBSI.
