Treebo cofounder Rahul Chaudhary joins Venture Capital Fund Matrix Partners

Rahul Chaudhary, the co-founder of budget hospitality chain Treebo Hotels, has joined VC fund Matrix Partners India, an early startup investor.

Rahul Chaudhary, the co-founder of budget hospitality chain Treebo Hotels, has joined VC fund Matrix Partners India, an early startup investor.

“Let’s see what this VC thing is all about then. Excited to be joining the team at Matrix Partners. Hoping to be the kind of investor I’ve respected as a founder—Honest, Empathetic, and All-in,” Rahul wrote in a Twitter post.

At the low-cost hotel aggregator he cofounded in 2015 with Sidharth Gupta and Kadam Jeet Jain, Chaudhary had left in June of the previous year and taken on an advising role. He still serves on Treebo Hotels’ board of directors.

Alongside Elevation Capital and Bertelsmann, Matrix Partners was one of Treebo’s earliest financial backers.
