[Funding alert] PurpleTutor raises INR 10 cr in Series A funding

In its Series A fundraising round, PurpleTutor, which specialises in AI-based live lessons, has raised INR 10 crore. Disruptors Capital, IvyCap Ventures, Arjun Malhotra (co-founder of HCL), and others took part in the round.

The money raised will enable the business to expand its product line and improve its AI offering.

Founded in 2019 by Gaurav Perti, Yatish Gupta and Rajat Dhariwal, PurpleTutor focusses on building problem solving & logical skills in children in the age group of 6 – 16 via LIVE online classes. There is enough research to show early childhood is a very critical time for developmental changes in children, and these have a profound impact on the child’s future. Developing skills-sets such as problem solving, logical reasoning, creativity & critical thinking early on in children will make them future ready.

“Our artificial intelligence in live classes is a very unique product, and it helps to personalize classes at the same time helping teachers. The current fund raise will help us strengthen our technology and product teams, and build on our AI product even further and expand product lines,” said Gaurav Perti, CEO, PurpleTutor.

The startup previously raised INR 3 lakh ($1.6 million) in its seed round in January of last year. In comparison to the prior fiscal year, the company’s sales increased by 4.5 times in FY21. In a statement, the company reported that its total revenue for FY21 was INR 10.41 crore.
