PhysicsWallah Acquires Edtech Startup FreeCo

Edtech unicorn PhysicsWallah has acquired FreeCo, a doubt-solving and resource management startup for an undisclosed amount. 

Through this acquisition, PhysicsWallah will be able to strengthen its existing services and enhance the learning experience for students. In addition, both the companies will work together in domains such as content library, faculty management and efficient use of resources across the two startups.

Through this deal, Physicswallah will add 15 FreeCo employees to its rolls.

The Jaipur-based FreeCo was founded in 2020 by Prashant Soni and Nikhil Chaudhary, It is a doubt-solving and resource management startup that caters to both B2B and B2C clients.

FreeCo provides content services, online tutoring, pen tab video solutions among other services.

The Noida-based PhysicsWallah was founded in 2020 by Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, It helps students to prepare for NEET and IIT JEE exams and other competitive exams. It claims that it has helped over 10,000 students crack NEET and JEE exams in the last two years.

“With FreeCo’s expertise in the ed-tech space, we are confident in innovating our existing learning pedagogies and offering enhanced learning solutions to aspirants. PhysicsWallah has also forayed into the offline space with the launch of ‘PW Vidyapeeths’ at six locations, including Kota and Delhi, in the last two months.

In June this year, Physicswallah became unicorn after it had raised $100 million in a Series A funding round from Westbridge, GSV Ventures, and others.
