Orange Health acquires diagnostic lab Rapidx

Healthtech startup Orange Health has acquired diagnostic lab Rapidx for an undisclosed amount.

Healthtech startup Orange Health has acquired diagnostic lab Rapidx for an undisclosed amount.

Through the acquisition, Orange Health aims to expand its footprint in the NCR region, as well as enable the expansion of its flagship service – 60-minute collection and 6-hour reporting – in the Northern region.

The company said the current acquisition is a part of Orange Health’s strategy to accelerate growth, expand its reach and strengthen its position in the clinical space in India.

The company is in the process of introducing allergy testing packages, cancer marker tests, maternal markers for expectant mothers and advanced immunology tests at more affordable rates.

Gurugram-based Rapidx was founded in 2019  by Dr Amit Arora, Kishore Gemini and Dr Dipti Ekka, it is a NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) and ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) approved diagnostic lab. Its advanced reference laboratory established in flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and ELISA tests will now be available at Orange Health’s diagnostic services.

It has a significant presence and has handled 6,50,000 patient orders with a maximum capacity load handling of 3,000+ patient orders per day.

“We feel that on-demand and at-home service will be the next leap in this sector from the current hyperlocal sample collection centres. This requires building an intelligent and robust supply chain and lab operations that not just promise speed but also on-time delivery. With the current acquisition, we aim to further expand our services and continue our mission to provide the fastest, timely and accurate diagnostic services to people in India,” a joint statement from Orange Health said.  

The Bengaluru-based Orange Health was founded in 2020 by Dhruv Gupta and Tarun Bhambra, It is a diagnostic-tech company, and has so far provided clinical trial services to over 1 million clients in Bengaluru and the National Capital Region (NCR) and is one of the highest-rated diagnostic laboratories in the country.

In June this year, Health-tech Startup Orange Health had raised $25 million in its Series B funding round from Bertelsmann India Investments and General Catalyst.
