The database analytics startup Rockset, which was founded by Venkat Venkataramani, an alumnus of NIT Tiruchirappalli, and Dhruba Borthakur, an alumnus of BITS Pilani, has been acquired by OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT.
Rockset was acquired by OpenAI in a stock transaction that valued Rockset at a few hundred million, utilizing its shares. This acquisition is one of the largest by the rapidly expanding AI lab.

The Rockset team will become a member of OpenAI as a result of the transaction, and their technology will improve the retrieval infrastructure of OpenAI's enterprise products.
Rockset is a company that specializes in the development of real-time search and analytics databases. It has also implemented artificial intelligence in a variety of applications, such as anomaly detection and chatbots.
Rockset was most recently valued at $86 billion in a tender offer by investors earlier this year.
