[Funding alert] Niti Aayog-backed Genesys International raises $32 mn in equity investment

Genesys International Corporation, a 3D mapping content and geospatial solutions company, has raised Rs 250 crore ($32 million) in equity funding round led by Malabar India Fund, with participation from other investors.

The round also saw participation from existing investors former Blackstone managing director Mathew Cyriac.

Launched by NITI Aayog, headquartered in Mumbai, Genesys International Corporation is the first company in India to launch street imagery immersive content for all major Indian cities with pan-India vector maps.

Its constellation is now India’s largest sensor constellation capable of acquiring terrestrial, oblique and aerial imagery at high speed and accuracy. The company said it recently applied for two patents for the 3D mapping environment.

“This investment will be a key catalyst post the new Indian geospatial policy which has given a major fillip to our capabilities. We believe we will help leapfrog India’s map ecosystem,” said, Sajid Malik chairman and managing director, Genesys International.

The company plans to strengthen its Content-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform to build a business model offering multi-vertical applications that meet the evolving needs of India’s digital infrastructure ecosystem.
