Shortly after its public market debut, Swiggy introduced a service to help restaurant partners source kitchen equipment.
Swiggy’s blogpost explains that this service connects restaurants with trusted suppliers, offering appliances like freezers, cookers, microwaves, and chillers to meet their needs.
Goal of launching kitchen Equipment
The goal is to make it easier for restaurants to get essential kitchen equipment at competitive prices from reliable vendors.
Restaurant partners can start by signing up via the Swiggy Owner app or an online form. After registering, vendors will reach out to discuss equipment options and help them choose based on their needs.
Before its public listing, Swiggy launched several new initiatives, and this trend continues. The company is reportedly testing a new services platform, 'Yello,' to connect users with professionals like chefs and beauticians.

Swiggy is testing a premium membership program called Rare Club, starting at ₹50,000 per year, targeting high-end customers.
Meanwhile, Zomato, Swiggy's competitor, introduced a similar service earlier, helping restaurants with needs like hiring, FSSAI registration, taxation, and trademarking. Both companies compete in the food delivery and the fast-growing quick commerce market.
Swiggy is also expanding into the events and experiences space, appointing former lenskart executive Supriya Shankar as vice president for this segment.
