Navam Capital Closes Its First Venture Capital Fund at Rs 50 Cr

At INR 50 Cr (about $6 Mn), Navam Capital has announced the first closing of Navam Venture Fund I, its initial alternative investment fund (AIF).

The fund intends to invest in businesses across frontier tech industries, including aerospace, climate technology, electric mobility, agriculture technology, and AI, among others. Its overall corpus is targeted at INR 250 Cr, or roughly $30 million.

According to Moneycontrol, it has received initial promises from some firms, family offices, and extremely wealthy people.

The venture capital firm added that the fund would prioritize intellectual property-rich firms with strong technological distinctiveness and an engineering focus.

Navam’s focus on propriety enables it to offer early-stage businesses patience, and long-term funding.
