Nasscom Foundation and Nasscom SME Council have launched a programme to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in accomplishing their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives, in observance of International MSME Day.

This collaborative endeavor combines prominent technology small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that are dedicated to improving the technological abilities and job prospects of underprivileged young individuals. The program was inaugurated in Delhi today, with expansions taking place simultaneously in Hubballi and Trivandrum.

The strategic alliance seeks to provide training and enhance the skills of 120 young individuals from the three locations in cutting-edge technology. The complete training program offers short-term courses in Python and Data Analytics, as well as overall personality development. It also provides industry-recognized certificates through FutureSkills Prime, which improves employment opportunities. After successfully finishing, half of the talented young individuals will be able to access work prospects in the technology industry.

While small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are vital to the global economy, they frequently encounter difficulties when it comes to adopting efficient corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) frequently face obstacles such as restricted resources, limited knowledge of the advantages and rules of corporate social responsibility (CSR), and inadequate resources and experience to carry out social projects. The intricacy of negotiating CSR legislation and the tendency to prioritize current business demands can obscure potential long-term investments in CSR.

Sriram Subramanya, Founder, Managing Director, and CEO of Integra, said: “Integrating CSR into an SME’s core business can indeed be challenging. Overcoming these obstacles requires a firm commitment from SMEs to embed CSR into their core practices. I am thrilled that we have launched the first cohort, uniting SMEs under a common CSR goal through a pioneering collaboration with nasscom foundation. This initiative offers unique value, creating a more conducive environment for upskilling young people, especially girls from marginalized communities. This is a significant achievement, demonstrating the role of SMEs to create a positive impact on society.”

Srikanth Srinivasan, Vice President, nasscom, said: “SMEs often grapple with limited budgets and resources, which can hinder their ability to implement effective CSR strategies. Recognizing these challenges, our collaboration with the Nasscom Foundation aims to foster a community of SMEs dedicated to overcoming these obstacles by integrating CSR into their core practices. We are thrilled to launch this initiative with seven pioneering SME members and look forward to expanding our collaboration, thereby enhancing our collective impact on CSR and sustainable growth.”
