Zaakpay, the payment gateway arm of fintech startup MobiKwik, has formed a partnership with social media titan Meta to provide in-app payments on WhatsApp.

The newly developed product will enable users to make payments directly within conversations, and merchants will be able to receive the payments directly within WhatsApp.

The embedded payments solution will provide users with a variety of payment methods, such as wallet payments, UPI, debit cards, and credit cards, and it is accessible to both end-consumers and enterprises.

The fintech startup stated that the integration will enable MSMEs to access a broader customer base through WhatsApp's user network, particularly in Tier II and III cities, on the B2B side.

MobiKwik asserted that the new product will improve merchant efficiency and offer consumers flexibility and convenience. The new product suite will attempt to capitalize on the increasing demand for conversational commerce and integrate payments with the primary app framework.
