[Funding News] Kazam Secures $8 Mn Funding Round from Vertex Ventures

Kazam, a startup in the field of electric mobility, has successfully raised $8 million in its Series A3 fundraising round.

Kazam stated that the newly acquired money will be utilized to strengthen its technical and product teams, improve platform offerings, and broaden its market presence.

The transaction was primarily spearheaded by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India. Additionally, Avaana Capital, Alteria Capital, and other prominent investors also took part in the round.

Kazam is a software framework for electric vehicle (EV) charging that constructs intelligent and cost-effective EV charging networks. The platform eliminates the difficulties associated with EV infrastructure with its software and hardware solutions, specifically developed to assist charge station operators, fleet operators, and power grids. The startup's objective is to digitalize the complete e-mobility value chain, encompassing the management of grid electricity, the provision of fuel for electric vehicles, and the supervision of fleet operations.

Kazam software facilitates the operation of several types of vehicles, such as motorcycles, electric commercial vehicles (CEV), tricycles, and city buses.

It asserts to cater to over 25,000 charging stations. Recently, a new fast charging option called LEV-DC was introduced for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. This charging option can charge an electric scooter up to 80% in just 20 minutes.
