The ePlane Company which works on electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in India that has raised $14 million in a Series B funding round. The round was co-led by Speciale Invest and Antares Ventures.

The ePlane Company has raised $14 million in a Series B fundraising round led by Antares Ventures and Speciale Invest.

Participating in the round were Redstart Labs (from Naukri), Java Capital, Samarthya Investment Advisors, Homage Ventures (Aditya Ghosh), Micelio Mobility, Naval Ravikant and Anicut.

Flight testing of ePlane manned aircraft is scheduled for mid-2025 and the funding will mostly be utilized for its development and certification.

The investment will help the expansion and commercialization of ePlane drone technology through a wholly-owned subsidiary in addition to enhancing the company technical skills.

With an emphasis on developing small, light, and sustainable urban mobility solutions. The ePlane Company was founded by Professor Satya Chakravarthy and developed at IIT Madras in 2019, look to transform urban transportation.

The Chennai-based company is creating the e200x, an eVTOL aircraft engineered to reduce traffic congestion in metropolitan areas by enabling up to 7x faster intra-city trips and cargo transfer.
