MODIFI Raises Strategic Investment From SMBC Asia Rising Fund

MODIFI, a global platform in B2B Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solutions has raised $15 mn funding round led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund with participation from existing investors Maersk, IntesaSanPaolo, Heliad, and other top-tier global investors.

One of the top banks in Japan and a significant player in the APAC financial sector, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), contributes capital and strategic alignment to the collaboration.

In addition to their initial commitment, MODIFI and SMBC have formed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together to develop digital solutions that help SME exporters in Asia grow their global trade activities. MODIFI and SMBC aim to provide SMEs with cutting-edge cross-border finance options through a number of collaborative projects.
