PM-Kisan Scheme 20th Installment: Lakhs of farmers are likely to receive Rs 2,000 in their bank accounts in near days under the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

What is PM Kisan?

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) is a government scheme launched in 2019 to provide financial support to farmers across India. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 which are directly transferred to their bank accounts.

The scheme aims to help farmers manage agricultural expenses and reduce their financial burden. 

Initially meant for small and marginal farmers, it was later expanded to cover all landholding farmers, except those who pay income tax or hold government posts.

When Will Farmers Receive the Next Rs 2,000 Payment?

The PM-Kisan scheme releases installments every four months, with the last payment made in February. Following this schedule, the 20th installment is expected by the end of June 2025.

Is e-KYC Mandatory?

Yes, e-KYC is mandatory to receive future payments. The government has made this requirement to ensure transparency, verify genuine beneficiaries, remove middlemen, and make sure the funds are transferred directly to the correct bank accounts.

Ways to Complete e-KYC for PM-Kisan:

Farmers can complete their e-KYC through any of the following methods:

1. OTP-based e-KYC
   • Available on the PM-Kisan portal and mobile app.
2. Biometric-based e-KYC
   • Can be done at Common Service Centres (CSCs) or State Seva Kendras (SSKs).
3. Face Authentication-based e-KYC
   • Done through the PM-Kisan Mobile App, useful for those who don’t have fingerprint access.

How to Complete Aadhaar-Based OTP e-KYC for PM-Kisan

Step 1: Go to the official website – pmkisan.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the ‘e-KYC’ option (top-right corner)

Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar number

Step 4: Submit the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile

Step 5: Once verified, your e-KYC is complete

How to Complete Face Authentication e-KYC Using Mobile App

Step 1: Download the PM-Kisan Mobile App and the Aadhaar Face RD App from google Play Store

Step 2: Open the PM-Kisan app and log in with your registered mobile number

Step 3: Go to the Beneficiary Status section

Step 4: If e-KYC shows "No", tap on ‘e-KYC’

Step 5: Enter your Aadhaar number and give consent for face scan

Step 6: Once the face is verified, your e-KYC is complete

With the 20th PM-Kisan installment expected by the end of June, farmers must complete their e-KYC on time to avoid delays or missing the ₹2,000 payment. Check your beneficiary status regularly and finish the process early.

The 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was released in February this year during an event in Bihar by Prime Minister Modi. Over 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.41 crore women farmers, received financial aid directly in their bank accounts. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), more than Rs 22,000 crore was distributed under this installment.
