The PAN 2.0 Project is an e-Governance initiative aimed at re-engineering taxpayer registration services through technology-driven transformation. It focuses on enhancing the digital experience for taxpayers by upgrading the current PAN/TAN 1.0 ecosystem. This upgrade will streamline both core and non-core PAN/TAN activities, as well as improve the PAN validation service for greater efficiency and security.
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji, approved the PAN 2.0 Project of the Income Tax Department, with a financial outlay of Rs. 1435 crore.
