The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) and Starburst Aerospace has entered into a strategic partnership that is expected to completely change the Indian aerospace, new space, and defence (ASD) business.
The objective of this strategic alliance is to develop an ASD ecosystem around IIM Mumbai, offering essential resources and assistance to ASD companies all over the country.
“This strategic collaboration between IIM Mumbai and Starburst signifies a crucial step towards nurturing and empowering the burgeoning ASD startup ecosystem in India,” remarked Prof. Manoj K Tiwari. “By leveraging the expertise and resources of both institutions, we aim to provide unparalleled support to ASD startups, enabling them to thrive and contribute significantly to India’s ASD industry.”

The partnership is being formed at a critical juncture, since the ASD industry in India is undergoing unparalleled expansion and change. Prof. Manoj K. Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai, and Mr. Francois Chopard, representing Starburst, formalised this cooperation during a signing ceremony held at IIM Mumbai on March 26, 2024, realising the great potential and importance of encouraging innovation in this domain.
