A Pre-Series Round A headed by Inflection Point Ventures has secured an undisclosed sum for Urvann, a hyperlocal marketplace with a focus on gardening.
The money will be used to improve the technology and assist its growth in various areas of the nation, as per reported by BW Disrupt.
Urvann is India’s first hyperlocal marketplace for plants and gardening supplies, and it was founded by graduates of IIM-Ahmedabad and ISB.
Sambhav Jain, Co-Founder of Urvann says, “IPV has been really supportive throughout our journey. With the help of IPV, we scaled Urvann from X to 10X and now with this round, we are looking to scale further from 10X to 100X across the country.”
Urvann has fulfilled over 75,000 orders and delivers over 500 orders daily. Urvann also distributed 500K air purifier plants in Delhi NCR and Bangalore. Urvann also created India’s first active community for plant parents to discuss plant-related issues. Over 50,000 plant parents have used Urvann.
Mitesh Shah, Co-Founder, Inflection Point Ventures, says, “Gardening as a business is an untapped market for the Indian market especially in urban areas. Urvann aims to enhance the gardening experience across cities by providing a wholesome experience with their extensive service and their collaboration with local nurseries. At IPV we look forward to extending strategic support and helping them penetrate new markets and scale their business”.
Urvann, India’s first hyperlocal marketplace for plants and gardening products, connects plant lovers to local nurseries and offers free next-day delivery. They want to change the gardening industry by solving its biggest issues: limited online gardening product availability and long transit times that make plants unhealthy.
