Hero Electric partners with women only delivery platform Even Cargo

Hero Electric has partnered with Even Cargo, the nation's first women-only delivery platform, to strengthen the last-mile delivery segment.

The partnership is envisioned to play a key role in accelerating the adoption of electric mobility by women and increasing penetration in low-income communities.

As part of this partnership, Hero Electric will assist Even Cargo in building the first delivery EV fleet for women by 2025, bringing more than 10,000 female riders to the platform, empowering them and creating jobs.

These fleets will be allocated to major cities in India including Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.

“With the EV sector witnessing such swift expansion, numerous startups have chosen various talent competencies foraying into the segment generating widespread opportunities. Such B2B partnerships are all set to change the dynamics of the EV segment, where multiple players will exchange and utilise their expertise and strengths to grow together”, said, Sohinder Gill, CEO of Electric.

Sohinder also said that the company will continue to leverage its resources and support more such communities to accelerate EV penetration in the country.

Hero Electric will provide on-demand, exclusive training sessions to female riders and their family members. The training session will cover the basic knowledge of vehicle road preparation, repair and reboot and will also be extended to the family members. This ensures the support of trusted financial institutions associated with Hero Electric for women without credit history with assured bank accounts.

These training sessions will provide essential information about loans, interest rates and subsidies to the women riders and their family members.

“The partnership has enabled us to bring India’s first women-only delivery fleet on electric bikes. We thank Hero Electric for their support in inducting more women riders into the last mile logistics from a single digit to a double-digit percentage by 2025”, said, Karina Bhasin, COO of Even Cargo.

“This association will pave the way for providing women with safe, affordable, and reliable transportation”, Bhasin added.

Hero Electric has so far sold 4.5 lakh electric two-wheelers in the country.
