After Working 7 Years As A Homemaker, Now Harini Sivakumar Built a More Than Rs 200 Cr Worth Company, Earth Rhythm.
Harini Sivakumar’s entrepreneurial journey started:
Chennai-born Harini Sivakumar got married at the age of 22. But a tough time begins when she got know that her elder son was born with Down syndrome, a genetic disorder.
Down syndrome can result in intellectual disability, various health problems, and physical traits like an upward-slanting eye and a flatter face. However, this unstoppable mother didn’t lose hope.
Why Harini Sivakumar quit her job?
Harini determined to find the best solutions for her son’s disability. At that time, she was working in the bank. However, she had to quit her job to take care of her child. After that, she moved from city to city, trying to figure out solutions for her son’s disability. But she was unable to come up with a perfect solution.
Harini discovered a few products, but they were highly chemical-laden. Due to a lack of natural skincare products, she decided to study skincare formulations herself and enrolled in many courses before starting to make her own soaps. After learning about the skin care products, she decided to launch her startup.
When Harini Sivakumar launched her startup?
Finally, in 2017, she founded Soapworks India in Delhi, (which is currently known as Earth Rhythm). When her father Sivakumar joined the business, her father changed its name to Earth Rhythm in 2018.
What Earth Rhythm does?
Earth Rhythm is India’s 1st homegrown brand that provides sustainable and eco-friendly brands such as skincare, haircare, and other skin items. Each of the skin care brand formulas is created in-house by trained cosmetic chemists. And duo father and daughter built a multi-million dollar company, now they are fulfilling 25000 orders per month.
What Harini Sivakumar says?
She says, “If I can do this at the age of 35, building a Rs. 200 crore valuable company with no prior experience, then what are you waiting for? You might be someone who has just taken a break in their career. Don’t stop this; it’s just the beginning of something really big in your career.”
And this is how building an Rs. 200 crore company with no prior experience, Harini became a successful entrepreneur at the age of 35.
