Gytree.com announced its first round of funding led by Biocon's Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, RainMatter Investments, Ajay Srinivasan, former CEO of Aditya Birla Capital, San Francisco-based Mili Clinic's Anubhuti Sharma.

Gytree will be immediately accessible to consumers through the user-friendly web-app as part of its go-to-market strategy, as well as to businesses who value their female employees’ well-being, as per reported by BW Disrupt.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the chairperson of Biocon, India’s largest biopharmaceutical company, says, “In health, we need to make products for women first and India has neglected this for too long.” Gytree.com fills a critical gap in using technology to address the personal health needs of women through products and services. “The demand for women’s health solutions and gytree.com emerged from within that 20 million-strong community. Due to interrelated symptoms and outcomes, Indian women require a 360-degree approach to care” Says Chopra.

In India, about 60% of working women leave their jobs due to health-related reasons. More than 32 million Indian women lack the support they need to effectively manage their incurable disorders, which include endometriosis, PCOS, and infertility, according to the National Health Portal of India.

The Rainmatter Investments team said of their investment in Gytree, “Helping people make healthy choices has been a priority for us at Rainmatter.
